Environmental Project Focus – Polywrap ‘Polyair’
Environmental Project Focus – Polywrap ‘Polyair’
It is becoming increasingly important that we take more care of our planet and reduce our environmental footprint. We need to make sure we are using low impact environmentally friendly product options, where possible, to protect future generation’s air, soil and water. As a print company it is essential that we keep an eye on our environmental impact and we support our customers in doing the same.
One of our customers Hopwells, a multi-regional food distribution company, have taken on some of this environmental responsibility by contacting us to see if we could provide them with a more environmentally friendly solution for their Mailings. On a regular basis Hopwells send out brochures and newsletters and in the past, have enclosed their literature in a clear poly wrap with a biodegradable additive causing it to degrade in landfill over time. This time however they wanted to take things one step further and make sure that their Christmas brochure wraps could be added to household recycling bins, thus they could be recycled and reused, reducing landfill.
The polywrap option they chose for their mailings moving forward was ‘polyair’, a few pence extra on the previous material we supplied them, but now recyclable. As a Business they felt it was imperative they did their best to make sure their impact on the environment was reduced as much as possible.
“We must look to the future and the environmental impact we are having as a business and this is just one of the steps Hopwells are taking”
Ashley Hopwell Commercial Director of Hopwells
As a company we have decided to take a leaf out of Hopwells book and will now only be supplying our clients with the recyclable poly wrap ‘Poly Air’ for all future poly wrapped items we mail out. We hope this inexpensive, small step can go some way to reducing our foot print on the environment along with helping our clients to do the same.
